3-Day Masai Mara Group Joining Safari
Overview

Your safari at a glance

This package is designed for travellers who want the Masai Mara experience at a lower per-person cost by sharing transport and guide services with other guests. It follows a scheduled departure format from Nairobi and uses a fixed three-day programme, making it different from our customizable private safari. Guests share a safari 4x4 with up to seven passengers so each traveller has a designated seat and access to the pop-up roof during game viewing. The itinerary still protects the most important wildlife time: an afternoon drive on arrival, a full Day 2 in the reserve with picnic lunch, and a final early wildlife session before the return to Nairobi.

Itinerary

Day-by-day safari plan

Day 1

Join the Group in Nairobi – Drive to Masai Mara

Meet at the designated Nairobi departure point in the morning, where the driver-guide confirms the passenger list, luggage arrangements and seating before the group leaves the city. Travel west to the Great Rift Valley and stop briefly at a viewpoint for photographs. Continue through Narok and onward to the Masai Mara, sharing the journey with the other guests in your safari vehicle. Arrive at the camp for lunch and check-in. Later in the afternoon, the group enters the reserve for the first game drive, using the pop-up roof for open views across the plains. The guide concentrates on the best sightings available within the time and location, with common targets including lion, elephant, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and antelope. Return to camp around sunset for dinner. Because this is a joining safari, departure times and game-drive decisions are coordinated for the whole vehicle rather than one individual booking.

Day 2

Full-Day Shared Game Drive – Masai Mara Reserve

After an early breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for a full day in the Masai Mara. Keeping the group out in the reserve avoids losing wildlife time by returning to camp at midday. The driver-guide follows the day’s strongest game-viewing opportunities, balancing big-cat searches with elephants, giraffe, buffalo and large herds of plains game. In migration season, the vehicle may head toward the Mara River if current information suggests worthwhile activity, while at other times the emphasis remains on resident wildlife and predator territories. Lunch is taken at a designated picnic site before the afternoon game drive continues in a different section of the reserve. Every guest has a designated passenger seat, and the roof is raised during game viewing. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and a second overnight stay.

Day 3

Morning Wildlife Drive – Shared Return to Nairobi

Depending on the confirmed camp and park-entry schedule, take a short early-morning wildlife drive or begin the return journey after breakfast. The group checks out together and drives back through Narok toward the Great Rift Valley, stopping for lunch and comfort breaks along the route. Arrival in Nairobi is expected in the late afternoon, where the safari ends at the designated drop-off point. Private onward transfers to an airport or a different hotel can be arranged separately if required.
